a new calculator allows you to see what your name would be if you were born today, based on your name’s popularity in the year you were born. “veena” was the 770th most popular girl’s name in 1983, and my current counterpart is “alessia”. my personal favourite, however, is my 1950s counterpart, which is “melvin”. because, you know, “melvin rangaswami” has a pretty great ring to it.
